Dockendale extends its management capacity with Sea-Squad.
Dockendale is a third-party ship manager whose superintendents each carry a full slate of vessels. Growing the managed fleet meant either hiring ahead of revenue or asking the same people to absorb more email, more inspections and more reporting. Sea-Squad let them take the second path without the burnout.

The challenge.
Each superintendent's day started and ended in the inbox: vessel reports, supplier threads, class correspondence and crew queries arriving in one stream, with the important items found by reading everything. Inspections were captured on paper or phone and written up days later. Management capacity was capped by how much one experienced person could read.
What we deployed.
Supt-GPT on the technical inbox
Every vessel email read, classified and turned into action items with owners and due dates; a per-fleet morning brief so the day starts with decisions rather than triage.
Captain-GPT on board
Offline-first inspections, defect capture and reports from the ship, synced to shore when connectivity allows, so shore never waits for a typed-up report.
Vessel reports and documents
Noon and passage reports validated on arrival; certificates and manuals searchable by the whole technical team.
Self-hosted deployment
Sea-Squad running on Dockendale's own servers, with the company administering users, roles and data retention.
How it runs, day to day.
The superintendent reads the brief for their vessels: overnight items ranked, three that need a decision, the rest already assigned and drafted.
A master completes a pre-arrival inspection on the app; findings and photos are on the superintendent's screen before the pilot boards.
A supplier quote arrives by email; the comparison against the last order and a reply are drafted for approval.
Outcomes.
We did not add superintendents to take on more ships. We gave the ones we have a way to stop reading everything twice.
